Wednesday WIP and Yarn Along
As I mentioned on Monday, these 2 projects have revived my love of knitting (which was waning a little) *grins*
My grey Narragansett is progressing nicely, I haven't done a huge amount - I finished the twisted rib and now I'm on the increases for the yoke. In the picture you can see the small cable detail, which is great for keeping my interest without having to think too much ;) I'm loving the way the Fez yarn feels, it's all smooshy and lovely *grins*
My Euro Cowl is so much longer than last week (I think I had only done a couple of rows at that point)...
A couple of train journeys and the fact that it is perfect to work on while chatting means that it's now about 75% done! It looks bizarrely long for a cowl, but that's because the pattern is designed to stretch around the shoulders. It's so light and soft and I can't wait to finish it and show it off.
I finished the Hunger Games trilogy last week. I enjoyed them, I found it easy to get lost in the story, but there were lots of things that annoyed me about them too *laughs* The third book could have been much, much better, but as I had very low expectations (lots of people had mentioned that the third installment was awful) it actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting ;)
This week I'm about to start The Retribution, which is a follow up to a book earlier in the Tony Hill series. I haven't started it yet though, so not much to say about it!
As ever, if you want more lovely knitting and reading content, head to Tami's and Ginny's *smiles*

Your WIPs are looking great.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the Narragansett finished, looks like a beautiful pattern.
x
Lovely WIP's! I love how you describe the yarn as smooshy, that is such a pleasing word!
ReplyDeleteI think I need to move where I have to ride a train! You always have so much to show each week and it is always so beautiful! Your cowl is especially lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe twist on the collar of your Narragansett is a nice detail. I could do with a train journey too. Your progress puts me to shame.
ReplyDeletei love the color choice of both of your wips:)
ReplyDeleteI love the color of both your items-- that pullovver is amazing! I can't wait to see the FO! The wool on your cowl looks very squishy. It must be nice to knit on a train. I would loveto hear more of your views on The Hunger Games--I haven't been bitten by that bug--yet. But I sure know it is coming. Enjoy your week and your knitting is lovely. I can just imagine the cowl when finished!
ReplyDeleteYour Narragansett is looking great! I'm so glad that you have been able to rekindle your love for knitting. We all need a break sometimes. The cowl is also looking good, I don't blame you for being excited to show it off!
ReplyDeleteI adore a smooshy yarn - so much nicer to knit with than the stiff, scratchy sort. That Euro Cowl is looking FAB! Such lovely yarn.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! And I totally agree about the Hunger Games. I am excited to see the movie though.
ReplyDeleteLove the details on your Narragansett! It's so pretty.
ReplyDeleteBoth your pieces look lovely :). I loved watching Wire in the Blood - I should really read the books!
ReplyDeleteYour Narrangansett is going to be gorgeous! I love the pattern!
ReplyDeleteyour projects are beautiful!! Happy knitting!!
ReplyDeleteThe Narragansett is beautiful. I've never tried cables before. I am in love with the cowl! The yarn is gorgeous! I just because the second installment of the Hunger Games last night. you are right about getting lost in the story! I hadn't heard that about the 3rd book. Darn. Oh well! Even as I'm reading them I have to keep reminding myself that they were written for young adults! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy queue list seems to grow every Wednesday---yep I had to add narragansett; yours is lovely!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Narragansett is now in my faves and could be a contender for a sweater this year. I really like that cable detail too!
ReplyDeleteThat cowl is CRAZY long - I bet it will look so coooool!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of that Euro cowl. It looks very smooshy.
ReplyDeleteCopy cat! ;) Your Narragansett is coming along nicely. I'm a bit worried about the neck on mine being too wide, especially seeing how nicely yours pulls in. Did you do any mods? I'm loving the knit, too, just hoping not to look like a Flashdance refugee once I'm done. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cabling detail on the sweater!
ReplyDeleteI too have heard poor reviews about the third Hunger Games book, which I haven't gotten to yet. I'm just hoping for closure.
Love the gray sweater!! It has such classic lines and it's going to look great on you :) Glad you got your knitting mojo back.
ReplyDeleteAh - I'm rereading the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy right now, in anticipation of seeing the movie this weekend. I read the first one pretty soon after it came out, so it's been awhile. I'm enjoying it! (if "enjoying" is the right word for such a tense story.) But I remember the first book being the best of the three, so it'll be interesting to see what I think of the second two this time 'round.
ReplyDeleteYummmm, I want to knit the Narraganset -- what a gorgeous pattern. Looking forward to seeing your progress (and notes?) which may help me decide to buy the pattern.
ReplyDeleteI love the cowl! Pink is my favorite color. Can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a nice comment....Your knitting is beautiful!!
ReplyDelete~~Renee
It's been a year since I read the Hunger Games but I can't wait for the movie. Your progress looks great! Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteYour knitting is gorgeous! I have only read the first of The Hunger Games trilogy and keep hearing that the next two are not as good...so I am not sure if I will finish the series or not! :)
ReplyDeleteI still love these projects, they are both so beautiful in their own ways. I agree with you on the Hunger Games. They are so easy to get into, but I struggled with the third.
ReplyDeleteYour sweater will be gorgeous (I just peeked at the finished result) and I might have to add that to my queue. And the colour is beautiful and so spring-like!

ReplyDeleteEverything looks great! I love your cowl. The yarn is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour wips look fantastic. I especially love the color of your Narragansett.
ReplyDeleteLooks like just the perfect thing to knit while in transit. Lovely coulours in that cowl - can't wait to see it on. Your comments about the Hunger Games trilogy are about what I'm hearing from others. I think I may just give the books a miss and try the movies :)
ReplyDeleteI love the color of your Narragansett! I wanted to knit that from the minute I saw it published, and you're really making me want to start now!
ReplyDeletemmmmm - Fez - love it!
ReplyDeleteYour knittig is beautiful. Look forward to seeing them finished and modelled.
ReplyDeleteNo one who is as good at knitting as you can ever give up the craft. I'm just sayin'... ;) I'll allow that interest can wax and wane but if you ever put down your needles "for good", I'm going to fly over the pond and kick your butt. LOL! You should start designing your own stuff (if you haven't already.) That'll get you back in the swing for sure. xoxo - Alex
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects there.
ReplyDeleteThat sweater pattern is gorgeous. Looks like you're off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty start to the sweater. It is going to look lovely in grey.
ReplyDeletelove the colour of the euro cowl!
ReplyDeleteThat cowl is beautiful! I'm scared about the third book, but they're such quick reads, I don't really care it it's a let down...
ReplyDeleteHmmm. I'm not familiar with Fez yarn. I'm always interested in finding new sweater yarns, so I might have to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteThank for the lovely comment on my blog, you Euro Cowl is looking great. I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours of your Euro cowl, and the grey you've chosen is gorgeous too :)
