Wednesday WIP and Yarn Along

As I mentioned on Monday, these 2 projects have revived my love of knitting (which was waning a little) *grins*

My grey Narragansett  is progressing nicely, I haven't done a huge amount - I finished the twisted rib and now I'm on the increases for the yoke. In the picture you can see the small cable detail, which is great for keeping my interest without having to think too much ;) I'm loving the way the Fez yarn feels, it's all smooshy and lovely *grins*

My Euro Cowl is so much longer than last week (I think I had only done a couple of rows at that point)...

A couple of train journeys and the fact that it is perfect to work on while chatting means that it's now about 75% done! It looks bizarrely long for a cowl, but that's because the pattern is designed to stretch around the shoulders. It's so light and soft and I can't wait to finish it and show it off.

I finished the Hunger Games trilogy last week. I enjoyed them, I found it easy to get lost in the story, but there were lots of things that annoyed me about them too *laughs* The third book could have been much, much better, but as I had very low expectations (lots of people had mentioned that the third installment was awful) it actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting ;)

This week I'm about to start The Retribution, which is a follow up to a book earlier in the Tony Hill series. I haven't started it yet though, so not much to say about it!

As ever, if you want more lovely knitting and reading content, head to Tami's and Ginny's *smiles*

  4. The twist on the collar of your Narragansett is a nice detail. I could do with a train journey too. Your progress puts me to shame.

  6. I love the color of both your items-- that pullovver is amazing! I can't wait to see the FO! The wool on your cowl looks very squishy. It must be nice to knit on a train. I would loveto hear more of your views on The Hunger Games--I haven't been bitten by that bug--yet. But I sure know it is coming. Enjoy your week and your knitting is lovely. I can just imagine the cowl when finished!

  8. I adore a smooshy yarn - so much nicer to knit with than the stiff, scratchy sort. That Euro Cowl is looking FAB! Such lovely yarn.

  14. The Narragansett is beautiful. I've never tried cables before. I am in love with the cowl! The yarn is gorgeous! I just because the second installment of the Hunger Games last night. you are right about getting lost in the story! I hadn't heard that about the 3rd book. Darn. Oh well! Even as I'm reading them I have to keep reminding myself that they were written for young adults! :-)

  19. Copy cat! ;) Your Narragansett is coming along nicely. I'm a bit worried about the neck on mine being too wide, especially seeing how nicely yours pulls in. Did you do any mods? I'm loving the knit, too, just hoping not to look like a Flashdance refugee once I'm done. :)

  20. I love the cabling detail on the sweater!
I too have heard poor reviews about the third Hunger Games book, which I haven't gotten to yet. I'm just hoping for closure.

  22. Ah - I'm rereading the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy right now, in anticipation of seeing the movie this weekend. I read the first one pretty soon after it came out, so it's been awhile. I'm enjoying it! (if "enjoying" is the right word for such a tense story.) But I remember the first book being the best of the three, so it'll be interesting to see what I think of the second two this time 'round.

  39. No one who is as good at knitting as you can ever give up the craft. I'm just sayin'... ;) I'll allow that interest can wax and wane but if you ever put down your needles "for good", I'm going to fly over the pond and kick your butt. LOL! You should start designing your own stuff (if you haven't already.) That'll get you back in the swing for sure. xoxo - Alex
