Wednesday Again

Is it just me, or do Wednesdays seem to come around really quickly these days? *laughs*

So, the lack of plum coloured yarn should hint that I finished my cowl *grins* As ever, all will be revealed on Friday. I also finished the little monster I was making (which may not have appeared on a Wednesday, I can't quite remember!)

Finishing those projects gave me a few slots free to cast on new things... Except I didn't. I still have the languishing socks that I've been neglecting. So, boyfriend's sock now has a few inches of progress, which is nice. The socks I mentioned on Monday have been categorised as too girly for my brother, so it looks they have to be for me instead. What a shame ;) I do need to come up with a new plan for him now though!

And my Narragansett is progressing nicely, I'm ready to separate the arms now. Of course the weather is currently unseasonably hot, making it a little strange to be working on a warm and cosy jumper (sweater). Ooops ;)

I'm mostly reading the spinning book I mentioned yesterday at the moment, so nothing new to report there *smiles*

As ever, if you want more lovely knitting and reading content, head to Tami's and Ginny's *smiles*

  2. I know what you mean--I've been sitting outside in the sunshine knitting a blanket! It just doesn't seem right (yet somehow I cope). Love your projects, as always they are beautiful.

  3. I am so sorry you must suffer and keep the girlie socks for yourself! ;)
It's hot here too, but I keep knitting away, hoping one day for a chance to wear something that has come off my needles!
Have a lovely yarn along day!

  5. what a nice sweater and lovely blue socks. What a shame you have to keep them all for yourself:)

  6. I had a feeling the socks were going to be your socks. Oh well. Love your projects and looking forward to seeing the finished cowl!

  7. Lovely sweater - looks cosy indeed. I do know a thing or two about unseasonal weather of late, ours has been all over the place.
Well done on working on some of the in progress projects rather than casting on something new - Love the colour of the socks.
    Enjoy

  8. so much on the go! I think it's kind of fun knitting things even in warm weather - it feels like you're getting a headstart on any cold snaps that (inevitably!) will come. (that's how I justified knitting in Singapore - even though cold weather was going to be quite a long time coming!)

  9. I'm loving how the sweater is knitting up, every time I see it, the more I want to knit one of my own. You have such great taste in patterns! For manly socks you really only have two options, brown or gray. At least that is what the men of my family will say.

  11. I wish it wasn't so hot to knit sweaters, I just got into them and want to knit more! But I also believe that if you really want to, then just do it, and think about how great it will be to wear it in the fall.

  12. Even though those socks are too 'girly' I still love the color A LOT-- good choice! (And to be honest, I would guilt my brother into wearing them...LOL)

  13. Respect the Spindle is a great book! And yes - Wednesdays do seem to come quickly!

  14. Just think of the sweater knitting as being super prepared for next time the weather turns.... even if that happens to be 6 months from now. It looks like it's turning out beautifully. :)

  15. It's not just you; Wednesdays seem to come very quickly!

I'm always knitting something for the "wrong" season but it'll eventually be time to wear it!

  17. What a beautiful sweater and yes the week rolls around so fast again! Enjoy the beautiful weather x

  18. I'd probably have kept those gorgeous socks anyway, just so I could be sure they were being looked after properly. Your jumper looks very cosy, it may yet be useful this year, I don't trust this crazy warm weather!

  19. I agree with you about wednesdays! Your socks look like they're going to be beautiful!

  20. Nice progress. I agree I often wonder why I am working with wool when it's 80 degrees outside.

  21. Everything looks gorgeous. Wednesdays just fly, actually all of the days have been flying lately. We must have very full lives. :)

  22. At first I thought that sock picture was a bikini top you were knitting...until I read your post! :)

  23. That bikini top is perfect for the warm weather! ;)

  24. Your Narangasett looks so cozy! I'm making a vest and almost despaired of wearing it when we got a few weeks of really warm weather but we're back to chilly seasonal temps now. Enjoy the good weather while you have it!

  25. Its such a glorious week weather wise, I'm not suprised the Narangasett is too much to knit. Not that I'm complaining. Sorry to hear that you had to keep the socks. ;)

  26. The jumper looks great. I've put the one I was working on aside this week - it's just been too hot, lol. Good luck with the two at a time socks :)

  27. Your Narragansett looks lovely- I love that cable raglan!

  28. All your projects are looking great. I love those little cables. It is a little strange to be knitting wool sweaters when the weather is so warm out, but we knitters always have to think ahead, right? I am slowly working my way through the spindle book, too. It helps also to see some of the techniques demonstrated on YouTube. Still have to find some suitable for beginner fiber to practice on, too.

  30. What great projects! Followed you here from FrontierDreams. My craftiness led to a mama-made dress for BabySister due in early July. http://likemamalikedaughter.blogspot.com/2012/03/squirrelys-nutty-brown-owl-dress.html
