Brown, Brown and More Brown

Fridays with no finished projects make me sad.

Which explains my excitement in discovering that I had a project that was finished ages ago but never got blogged about *laughs* It's not the most exciting one in the world, but it is finished and that counts ;)

My brown legwarmers. Yeah, exciting, I know *laughs*

I made up the pattern, if you can call it a pattern - ribbing, stocking stitch and more ribbing:

I'm actually pretty pleased with them, they look pretty dull (especially thanks to the yarn of overwhelming sameness) but they're cosy which is the whole point. And they used up my leftover Rowan Pure Wool Aran, which took up an absurd amount of space.

I made them of a length that I could either wear them ruched up, or unruched but with the top ribbing folded over.

I tried to take pictures, but the colour was all over the place and annoyed me, so here is the ruched look in black and white *laughs* Honestly, it's bad enough that the top two pictures don't have the same colour, I couldn't cope with a third variation!

Anyway, for no doubt more interesting and colourful Friday finishes, head over to Tami'sNatural Suburbia and Wisdom Begins in Wonder

  2. Lovely! I think brown is hard to photograph particularly when it has a reddish tone.

  3. A very timely make as we're in for a cold snap, so these will keep you warm. I keep meaning to make some, hopefully, you've given me the incentive.

  4. I also keep thinking about making leg warmers. They look so cute peeking out the top of a pair of boots.

  5. They're cute! Plus, brown means they'll match practically anything.

  6. I feel warmer just looking at that legwarmer on your leg :) My workplace is very drafty and I noticed just the other day how much warmer I was in boots rather than shoes ... so maybe leg warmers? I have some grey yarn taking up absurd amounts of space :)

  7. Fridays with FOs make me sad too. But, I can't possibly keep up. These leg warmers are cute. I bet they're handy to have around for skirt/tights wearing in cold weather.

  8. FO Fridays without FOs make me sad, too...and the stupid part is that I *have* a FO but it was finished at 11:30pm last night and perhaps needs to be washed before I blog about it. Or not. It's coming next week :)

  10. They do look super cosy though, and even with simple knitting...it makes a pattern all the same :)

  11. I love leg warmers. I still have a pair from the 80's. My daughter wore them to retro day. Eek, how can I be old enough that what was stylish growing up is now retro. Love the brown. It's a great shade.
