I finished my Princess Unicorn socks!!!
That may not seem like it warrants 3 exclamation marks, but as they have been on the needles for a year, I think a small punctuation celebration is in order *laughs*
Hmmm, strange contortionist picture there ;)
So, this yarn was a Christmas gift from boyfriend, last Christmas. And I finished the second sock thanks to some knitting time this Christmas *laughs* This is why I now knit socks 2 at a time!
To explain the name of these socks - the yarn colourway is called Unicorn. And you can see from this picture below that I have given these socks Princess Soles (click the link for more information on what that means):
This is the first time I have knitted princess soles for myself, and they really are wonderfully comfortable. My feet aren't that sensitive, so I probably won't make all my socks this way, but they are especially luxurious - especially when you factor in the alpaca yarn ;)
So, those are my princess unicorn socks. I posted an FO just before Christmas, but it wasn't on a Friday, so here is my Subtle Stripes Cardigan again, for anyone who didn't see it ;)
You know the Friday drill - head over to Tami's, Natural Suburbia and Wisdom Begins in Wonder for some lovely FOs ;)
Never heard of princess soles before, but now that I have, I just have to knit myself some. The socks look super comfy.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try princess soles sometime, makes sense to have the smooth side directly to the feet. Nice cardi :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE!!! Those socks. They are worthy of three exclamation points!!! Every time a pair of socks is knitted, an angel gets it's wings. Isn't that how it goes?
ReplyDeleteLove your cardi too. I intend to knit a cardi this year. I've been really looking at patterns. Happy New Year!
Your socks and cardi are both beautiful, interesting about the princess soles.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend:)
The socks are lovely! Your cardigan is beautiful! I bet you're wearing it every chance you get.
ReplyDeleteI love your Princess Unicorn Socks!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the socks and those soles sound like they would be great for my Mum. She diabetic and her feet hurt all the time.
ReplyDeleteLove the Cardi!! IT looks perfect on you. The socks are sweet.
ReplyDeleteYay for finishing your socks! They look great. Your cardi however, now that is awesome. I did miss it before, thanks for re-posting it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects! The socks are beautiful and I can imagine how the princess soles combined with the alpaca fibre must feel!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cardigan, too!
Huh. Princess soles... I like it! I might have to give this a try! The socks look !!FAB!! (four exclamations) :-D
ReplyDeleteAnd your subtle stripes! BEAUTIFUL!
Love the socks and the sweater. I've been noticing the purl bumps in some of my socks. I think I'm going to try a princess sole for my next pair.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea Princess soles are. Kind of obvious if you think about it but certainly not something I'd have ever come up with lol. Your socks are beautiful :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on the Princess soles....I'll have to give this a try just to test it out. Both your FO's are lovely.
ReplyDeletelove a hundred times that cardigan, and the socks are pretty fabulous too!
ReplyDeleteThis is the second time I've heard about knitting the inside of socks.. I am going to try too, because I made my first socks the normal way and it did feel a bit weird.. I didn't think at the time it was because of the purl bumps.. Your socks look great!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting concept, this Princess soles. It makes sense. Hooray on finally adding socks to your wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteLove the socks and cardigan! The Princess soles are really clever. I like how they look knitted up in the variegated yarn.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing your socks, they look great! The cardigan is lovely also :)
ReplyDeleteOh I remember when you started those! I liked them then, I love them now. I'll definitely be trying the princess soles out in the future. Beautiful work!
