Hi there - it seems like a while since I posted, thanks to being ill lately :(
On the plus side, I wasn't too ill to knit, so I have made some decent progress on a couple of projects *laughs*
Check it out - Berwick is all finished in the body. I even did some of the finishing so that I don't have to do it all at the end. Also, seaming the shoulders meant I could try it on and check that I'm happy with the length *laughs*
I always seem to make garments too short. Sometimes through lack of yarn, sometimes as a choice and often because I get bored of the body part ;) This time, I have made it the right length, so I'm pretty pleased. Now all I have to do is knit the sleeves, pocket edgings and the giant neck, and it'll be done.
And I've already started on the first sleeve ;)
From the top picture you can also see that I have knitted most of the leg of my second Ice Cream Waffle Sock, a few rows left and I'll be turning the heel.
As ever, if you want more lovely knitting and yarn along content, head to Tami's and Ginny's *smiles*
ooh taht's going to be a super cute sweater, I love the colour you've chosen too. have a knitty wednesday xx
ReplyDeleteBerwick looks great! So does your sock.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better:)
great knitting progress, your Berwick looks cosy!!
ReplyDeleteGet better soon!
The sweater is lovely! And I really like that sock pattern, it seems incredibly unique!
ReplyDeleteLooks good - I'm glad you weren't too sick to knit! Hope you're better soon :)
ReplyDeleteYup, I know that feeling, I do it with socks. I get anxious when I get close to finishing so I make them shorter than I'd like.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on making sweaters too short. My featherweight stopped way too early because I got super bored. I keep telling myself that I'll rip out the ribbing (it's top down) and make it longer but that sounds like effort. ;)
ReplyDeleteI hate it when things end up too short, so you are smart to try it on! It's going to be fabulous.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've been under the weather, but it sounds like you were just in the right head-space for stockinette. It'll be lovely when it's done!!
ReplyDeleteYour Berwick looks super cosy. Sorry you've been feeling under the weather, hope you're all well again now :-)
ReplyDeleteI adore the pattern on that sock!! Definitely waffle-y :)
ReplyDeleteI sometimes make garments too short in the body too... I think I underestimate how short I am. LOL. Anyway, Berwick looks great! Love the color and the kangaroo pocket.
ReplyDeleteNice sweater. Oh, I've had the too short problem before too, so frustrating.
ReplyDeleteCool sock in that pretty colour way.
Enjoy your sleeves.
It definitely looks to be a perfect length, that is half the fun of knitting though, making the project fit perfectly! I'm glad to see the socks are coming along so nicely too!
ReplyDeleteI love blogs with lots of woolly photos, so I've just joined to follow yours. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are ill, but thank goodness not too ill as you were able to knit - hoo ray! You have made tremendous progress in this garment. That sock is fun.
