Work in Progress Wednesday 37

So, this week I have mostly been working on my fuzzy ballet sweater... You see that tiny little scrap of goldy-brown mohair at the bottom of the picture? Well, that is the first of the 2 ties that are the final bits to do before it is finished *grins* I've actually already seamed the rest of it, so that when the ties are finished they can just be attached and then it is good to go ;)

Shalom is progressing, even if it doesn't really look like it in the picture. Is it just me, or is it really hard to photograph a top down cardigan until it gets to a certain length?! Anyway, the sleeves are now on scrap yarn and it is plain and simple stocking stitch for the body. Fingers crossed it doesn't take as long as Cria did *laughs*

My sock now has a fair amount of leg, still a way to go so that I can use up as much of the yarn as possible. There's not really anything particularly exciting to say at this stage apparently ;)

So, that's a fairly short and sweet update! I did try and cast on a couple of things last night but it just wasn't working out. I also haven't finished my book, because I got too wrapped up in something else... But you'll have to wait until tomorrow for more on that *grins*

As ever, if you want more lovely knitting and reading content, head to Tami's and Ginny's *smiles*

  2. How exciting to be so close to finishing your sweater and I look forward to seeing it.
Yes, it's hard to photograph a top down cardigan, I have a blob of yarn in my photo and it really doesn't look like much of anything.

  3. I've only knitted one top-down cardigan and I feel I get better shots of it if I am modeling it. I put the stitches on a spare piece of yarn and wear it to get the pics. :-)can't wait to see it finished.

  4. That looks like a pretty good pile of stuff :) The colours in the cardi are gorgeous, even if the shape is hard to see at the moment!

  5. Yes, it is hard to do justice to a top down sweater in a photo. But I think what you have in your photo is beautiful!! That fuzzy yarn is very fuzzy!! Lovely knits as always.

  8. It is hard to photo in-progress anything in my opinion!!! I always take pics during the afternoon (for the light) but then keep working and am disappointed that I'm not showing actually progress in the post because I've gotten farther along! :-)

  9. The color of your Shalom is lovely... and yes, top down sweaters do look odd and lumpy for awhile.

  19. I'm at the same point with my Featherweight cardi. It's too unwieldily to photograph!

  20. Love the color on your sock - I love the longer leg lengths on socks. Top down cardis are incredibly hard to photograph!!

  23. Sounds like a lot of things are progressing toward completion. I always struggle with trying to use up the most of my yarn.
