Boring Title*

I've been a little bit absent from blogging and commenting (and, alas, crafting) over the past few days, thanks to a particularly unpleasant migraine :( I'm feeling a little better today, and luckily have something I finished last weekend that I can share *smiles*

My lace shrug that formed part of my crafting intermission

It was a really quick, easy and enjoyable knit, using lovely soft yarn. I'm really happy with how it came out...

It's a lovely shape and I have a feeling I'll make more in this style, perhaps with a different stitch pattern, longer sleeves, longer ribbing around the neck...

Slightly oversaturated picture to show off the lace pattern... It's simple but pretty and not too taxing for my lace-blind brain *laughs*

Pattern: Sagebrush
Yarn: 3 balls Cascade Dolce (bought from Las Vegas)
Modifications: I don't think I really made any, apart from making the ribbing on the sleeves and around the front a little longer than the pattern.

This was the first time I've used a provisional cast on, which went fine, and a 3 needle bind off for the underarm sections, which also went well. I like projects where I have to learn new skills *grins*

It's Friday, so you know what to do... Visit Tami'sNatural Suburbia and Wisdom Begins in Wonder. Have a great weekend

* Ok, so I usually try and find a quote or come up with a clever title, especially on a Friday, but as per the first paragraph of this post, I don't really have the mental capacity this week *laughs* Suggestions for a better title welcomed!

  1. Hey that looks lovely on you! While I have no idea what a provisional cast on or 3 needle bind off are, I'd be tempted to try this, as it will keep my a bit cosy while accommodating my ever-increasing belly!!! Happy weekend.

  3. Sorry to hear about the Migraine :S Glad you're doing better - they can really knock you out, can't they?

It's a beautiful lace pattern, definitely, and the style really suits you.

Hope you can get back to normal and enjoy your weekend!

  4. That shrug is sassy! If I could ever get my weight back under control I would love to wear one. I hope your head is feeling better. Migraines and Sinus issues are not fun at all.

  9. Ugh, migraines really suck. I hope that you have some respite from that awfulness. On a lighter note, the shrug looks fantastic!

  11. It's really cute! I absolutely love the colour. I struggled with provisional cast-ons for a long time until I tried the one where you crochet a long chain, and then pick up stitches in the back-side loops of the chain. Which one did you use?
