New Skills

A few weeks ago I decided that I wanted to do some kind of evening college course. I love my hobbies, but knitting, reading and writing can all be pretty solitary (I wish there was a knitting group near me!)

So I signed up for a painting and drawing course. Apart from doodling, I have never explored art and have no particular talent that I know of *laughs*

Regardless, I was excited to give it a go, and last night was the first session. We had to sketch an item from a washing line set up at the front of the class.

I'm pretty happy with how mine turned out, especially as it's the first time I've really sat down and sketched something!

  1. That is a pretty good sketch for it being the first time you have sat down and sketched something :)

I know what you mean about these hobbies, they are pretty solitary...

Good luck with your drawing class :)

  2. Hey, it's great! Well done :-)
Why don't you try to start your own knitting group? My friend did it, and it was super, especially on dark blustery winter nights. Knowing there was a sitting room with a few like minded souls, usually with cake or a bottle of wine.,, and you're good enough at the technical stuff to help anyone who wants to learn.

  7. Good job! I would never have said it was your first go if you hadn't told me.

I really need to find the time to get my sketch book out again, it's been neglected for far too long.
