I have multiple finished objects to show off today *grins* This is very exciting news after being stuck on one project for so long! So, lots of photos coming up...
First up, my cabled bag. I finished this on Saturday but haven't managed to find the right bag handles yet. I do love the lining though *smiles*
The yarn was the Brooklyn Tweed Shelter I won from a blog giveaway. It's beautifully springy, but a little rougher than I'm used to working with. Great stitch definition though.
Secondly, last night I finished sock number 1 of the Zauberball socks *big grin* I love this sock. I was wearing it last night for a little while, before being good and taking it off (to avoid wearing it out before it even has a mate!) The colours are so bright, and even though I usually avoid taking pictures in direct sunlight, I couldn't resist showing off just how much this sock glows!
And last, but by absolutely no means least, the final beauty shots of the Clapotis...
It's a little shorter than I initially wanted, however I've changed my mind about this being a bad thing - it sits really nicely on my shoulders at a good arm length. Of course, I made it for an event last Sunday (as you know) and it turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far! Luckily, it wasn't too hot in the shade, and it actually formed an excellent protective barrier against all the bitey flies that were hanging around ;)
I also love it worn like this, although I could do with a shawl pin to keep it in place...
Because it scrunches up quite small, thanks to the drop stitches, I can also wear it as a scarf, but I'm not quite sure that does it justice. I love how the next 2 shots really show off the magic of blocking, look how straight and flat it is now!
As you might be able to tell, I'm pretty damn pleased with this thing:

Well done you - so many FO's! I love your cabled bag
ReplyDeleteLove the bag. Definitely worth waiting for the right handles. I hunted for ages to find the right ones for mine. Not much choice round here, sadly.
ReplyDeleteand I think the Clapotis is amazing. I refrained from commenting on it last week because I wanted to see it blocked first, so I've been looking forward to it all week! I am not disappointed!
The Clapotis looks amazing. No wonder you are pleased. The colours are fab. The cabled bag looks great too. The right handles will come to you eventually.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful FOs!! I really do like the Clapotis and agree that blocking is just magical.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find the perfect handles for the bag.
Hooray for all of the FO's! You should be proud of the Clap! There is a lot of knitting and patience that go into that project. Yours turned out beautifully. I wear mine as a shawl or as a scarf and it's sassy either way.
ReplyDeleteYour bag is too darn adorable. I love the cables. Do you want a long or short handle? hmmm, there are lots of options on that one. Let it sit until you find the perfect one.
I adore your socks. I am almost done with sock 2 of my very first pair. I have a Zauberball waiting to be knitted...yours is super sassy.
Happy Fiber Arts Friday!
The yarn you chose for the clapotis really goes well with the pattern; I also really like how your bag lining matches your bag :-)
ReplyDeletegreat job on the FO's. The shawl is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteYay for the FO's! I love the Clapotis, such lovely colours. I can't say I have seen too many bag handles for sale , hope you find something you like.

ReplyDeleteWhat great projects...congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteClapotis is really impressive! And I love the glowing socks, too. Awesome work on everything!
ReplyDeleteTruly impressive! I love the bag and the lining especially!
ReplyDeleteYou have been a busy girl. The Clapotis is very pretty, I love the color of the socks and the bag is cute! Some funky wooden handles would be good with it. Great job!
ReplyDeleteEverything single FO is gorgeous! That cable is one of the neatest I've seen, show us your bag when you put the handles on it!
ReplyDeleteThe bag looks great! I love the lining too!! The socks are adorable - love the bright colors! Of course, you already know how fab your Clapotis looks but I'll add to the "oooohs and ahhhhs" again to tell you how pretty it is and how great it looks on!!! Excellent FO Friday post!!
ReplyDeleteThe cabled bag is my favorite. I love doing cables. It's interesting to know that the Shelter is a bit rough. Did you soak it when you were done with the knitting? It always amazes me how pretty the Clapotis is and how much folks complain about how boring it is to knit. What was your opinion of the knitting part of it? Your photos are great!
ReplyDeleteWell done on all the FOs! Great to see Clapotis finished :)
ReplyDeleteOoo, all your projects are wonderful, the sock really does shine with a light all it's own, I think I will look into using it myself! Great post!
ReplyDeleteLove the cabled bag and the finished Clap is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow..everything is wonderful. I really like the cabled bag and loved your smiling face in the last picture.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fiber Arts Friday!!

ReplyDeleteAll your FOs are beautiful! I really like the lining you chose for your cabled bag, and those are great before-and-after blocking shots!
ReplyDeleteLovely FOs! The cable on your bag is beautiful, and the yarn for your socks and shawl - so colourful and pretty! Love it all!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful work!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous projects! The colours are amazing! Thank you so much for linking to my Creative Friday:)
ReplyDeleteWarmly
Linda
Found your blog via Natural Suburbia. Love, love, love the shawl. Beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat great finished objects! The sock looks fabulous (I've worn one before it had its mate and did the same thing you did -- better take it off lest I wear it out before its mate is done) and I love the last photo. You look SO happy, I don't blame you -- the Clapotis is terrific!
ReplyDeleteI think that purse would look nice with leather strap or you could add a zipper and use it as a clutch... assuming it's not too big.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the clapotis and socks!!
I can't say this enough - I LOVE LOVE LOVE that clapotis!
ReplyDeleteThe clapotis is just stunning!
ReplyDeleteI am also quite impressed to say the least with your cable bag, a cable bag is going to be my next project and i hope it turns out as good as yours!
LOVE THE LAST PHOTO. You look very proud of yourself, justifiably so!
