So, what did I get up to while I was gone?
- Well, I read a lot of books:
- Finished 3 of my WIPs (no pictures until Friday though!)
- Went to Norway. Bought Norwegian yarn:
- Passed my driving test (yay!)
- And cast on a new project...
I'm using the Norwegian sock yarn to make a Wingspan. I've loved the look of the pattern for ages but didn't have any suitable yarn. I wanted something with long colour repeats, as I like the look of them in this pattern, then I realised that the yarn I had bought in Bergen fit the bill *grins*
I love the range of colours, and the yarn is gorgeous to work with. I was torn between making socks or this shawl but as I haven't yet got around to making socks with my Vegas yarn, I decided to go with the shawl *laughs*
You have been very busy, and congratulations on passing your driving test!! I'm hoping to do that sometime this year. I like the colours of your norwegian wool :) The Wingspan pattern looks pretty with the wool you are using for it!
ReplyDeleteI've got something similar in mind for my Wingspan :) I've got the yarn, I've got the pattern... now I just need the time ;)
ReplyDeleteIs this for me darling? (hope, hope!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stack of books, yarn and your Wingspan is stunning.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on now being able to drive! I am not a huge driver, but it is nice in case of an emergency.
Welcome back and congratulations on passing your driving test!
ReplyDeleteYour Norwegian yarn looks lovely.
Oh wow! You have been up to so much! I'm super jealous you got to go to Norway (you travel so much, it is wonderful!). I'm also jealous of your being able to read so many wonderful books, you are definitely making me want to push myself harder to read more. I cannot wait to see the FO's, although I have a feeling that Wingspan will be an FO before long too, it is really coming along.
ReplyDeleteyou know I keep seeing the wingspan and I'm going to have to join the group and knit it one day. Looks like fun! Glad you are back :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colour on Wingspan!
ReplyDeleteAnd so many books - I have some of them in my "to read pile" ;)
I LOVE that you read a huge stack of books...AND went to Norway! Oh, just Norway. Busy lady. Congrats on the driving test. Looking forward to seeing the finished project pics x
ReplyDeleteWow you have been super busy! Congratulations on passing your driving test, too. Love the wingspan, but I'm a bit more envious of all the books you've read, I'm terrible with my reading list haha.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is an impressive pile of books! (side note: my husband is distantly related to Jeffery Deaver)
ReplyDeleteAnd that wingspan looks fabulous! I love the color change.

I love your wingspan, I did one a while back and used the same type of yarn- long color repeats are the best! Norway sounds like it would have been a great trip as well, I hope you enjoyed yourself!
ReplyDeleteI'm still in love with the wingspan. I might do another one as fall is coming closer ... You've been busy. I'm definitelly checking your fos on Friday.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Your wingspan is gorgeous - all these long colour repeat version have me almost ready to start my own!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I've also been reading up a storm. I keep working on my Swallowtail shawl and just plowing through the same book. It's been rather humdrum here as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's so great to have you back! Your Wingspan is looking great and I'd love to hear what you thought of Danny Wallace's novel. I love his other books (and did indeed Join Him!) but have read some pretty bad reviews of this which have so far put me off downloading it!

Ooooo... Norwegian yarn. That looks delightful! Glad to see you back.
ReplyDeleteLove your wingspan-- I too have been keeping an eye out for a yarn I like for it. So glad that you have been able to find a yarn and cast on!
ReplyDeleteI love Scott Westerfeld! The Uglies series is one of my favorites :)
ReplyDeleteWow Natalie!! You went to Norway and bought yarn??? I was excited when I bought yarn in New York hee hee hee!!! So happy to see you post today. Love all your projects and happy to see you doing well.
