I thought that getting my in-progress Celestarium out of its project bag might give me the much needed impetus to pick it back up and make more progress on it...
It sort of worked - I reminded myself just how much I love it. The pattern is inspired, and I adore the yarn I'm using, it makes me think of stormy skies. The beads look great too.
But looking at it also demonstrated just how much more knitting there is to do. Yikes. I'm on the E charts, which means I have another round of increases to go - doubling the stitch count - and then many, many rows of the F charts before I even think about the edging *sigh*
I want to get it finished though, because it is so gorgeous and I want to wear it and bore everyone I come into contact with by insisting they admire it and telling them all about it ;)
I'll get there. I just need to not cast on anything new for a while (I have a second sock and another shawl on to go too). But honestly, how likely is that?!
It makes me think of a starry night sky! It's beautiful.
ReplyDeletehahaha wow that is going to take a lot of perseverence!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! It will be absolutely worth it.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful! I think that something like this would take me many many months to finish :-) And about not casting on new projects...I don't think that I am capable of that!
ReplyDeleteOh it's gorgeous! You must finish it. I know you are going to love it so much when it's done. Maybe do a row or two a day just to keep it moving along?
ReplyDeletelove your yarn and it does seem like the night sky with twinkling stars :)
ReplyDeleteIt is so much fun casting on something new. I understand how you feel!! But do finish your shawl! It looks so nice! You've inspired me to do something with beads next (but I must wait before casting it on!!)
ReplyDeleteLove this shawl! You can do it!!! I recommend TV show marathons for knitting projects like this!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! Just suck it up, ban all outside distractions from bothering you and hunker down. Wouldn't that be lovely if we could do that?
ReplyDeleteooh that's super pretty; just keep going - think about how exciting it will be when it's finished!! have a knitty wednesday xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful project! Hang in there. It really will be worth it.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be gorgeous. I'm not sure I'd be able to control myself to not cast on anything, but maybe if you set a target of a couple rows each day before you pick up anything else, that might work?
ReplyDeleteWow, that is the coolest pattern! And yours is stunning so far. I wish that there was a fast-forward button for seemingly never-ending projects. Just try to work on it a little at a time and it will be done before you know it.
ReplyDeleteYou won't bore me! We can talk about it together. I'm only on the D charts so you're ahead of me! Looks great!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is an ambitious project. It looks good so far!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You won't bore me either - I plan on wearing mine all the time and boring everyone with it as well. It's the night sky, for goodness sake! So COOL!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty!!! It will be amazing when it's done. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling. I always wish my stuff would just be done. I also like to wear my FOs just to see if people notice, although that barely ever works (and yet I get questions about if I made store bought sweaters?)
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful. I love the color it does look like a night sky or stormy skies. You can do it. Unless you already have =)
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing progress so far even tho it's been hibernating for awhile. Why not set a simple goal of so many rows a day or every other day? It reminds me of the planetarium and star gazing while camping.
